Mediator & non-practising Solicitor
With over 30 years of experience in dispute resolution, I have dedicated my career to helping people navigate through challenging conflicts. Initially as a litigation solicitor and now as a full-time mediator, With my skills and expertise I assist individuals in finding their own solutions. As a testament to my commitment to this field, I am proud to be recognized as a Fellow of the Civil Mediation Council, and I was awarded Mediation Achiever of the Year 2021.
I consider it a privilege to guide individuals in finding resolutions, even in the most complex and seemingly insurmountable disputes. I understand that these conflicts often arise during difficult periods in people’s lives, and I am dedicated to providing support and guidance throughout the mediation process.
I am based on the picturesque Fylde coast in Lytham St Annes but mediate throughout the country. While most of my mediations now take place online, when the parties prefer I facilitate discussions in person as well. Regardless of the location, my focus remains on ensuring a productive and acceptable solution for all parties involved.
Beyond my professional endeavors, I am still exploring the breathtaking fells of the Lake District alongside my family. Additionally, as an occasional spectator, I enjoy cheering on my hometown team St Helens RFC, the reigning Super League champions, and watching the currently less successful Blackpool FC.
I enjoy the work I do and am committed to assisting individuals in finding resolutions to their disputes. With my extensive experience, dedication, and empathetic approach, I am confident in providing you with a real opportunity to resolve your dispute.

“Phil was brilliant with the Claimant, a litigant in person with Autism. I feared communication would be a barrier to resolution but with Phil’s assistance, the parties were able to come together to reach a resolution that I am certain would not have been reached without him.”
“Professional, down to earth, friendly, flexible, client focussed, practical, ‘reads the room well’, excellent grasp of the issues. I have instructed Phil several times before and have found him to be an excellent mediator for all of the reasons described above. Would always want him as first choice going forward.”
“The mediator was professional, friendly and approachable which made our client at ease. He took on board our position and considered the best approach to achieve the desired result when the parties were some way apart and not achieving a great deal of progress.”
